Mining Park to Be Built in the South of the Capital of Catamarca Province, Argentina

en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Government of Catamarca (Gobierno de Catamarca) and the Municipality of San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca (Municipalidad de San Fernando del Valle de Catamarca, i.e., the capital of Catamarca Province) have signed an agreement to advance the construction of a "Mining Park" (Polo Minero) in the south of the capital, bringing together institutions, departments, and activities related to mining in a centralized location.

The agreement was signed by Governor Raúl Jalil and Mayor Gustavo Saadi, and includes the municipality donating municipal properties located in the south of the city to the provincial government; these properties will be dedicated exclusively to mining infrastructure construction.

Under the agreement, one of the sites will be used to build an administrative complex, centralizing the Ministry of Mining (Ministerio de Minería), CAMYEN S.E., and other institutions related to mining activities; the other site will serve logistics and operational functions, including drill core storage and parking for machinery and vehicles.

CAMYEN Vice President Gabriel Molina welcomed the signing of the agreement to build the Mining Park in the area of Bicentennial Avenue (avenida Bicentenario). He stated that the plan will bring together departments related to mining activities while advancing the decentralization of public offices, saying, "Catamarca is a mining province, and we must know how to turn all these resources we have into value."

The plan is part of the decentralization process of public institutions from the capital's city center and also contributes to the continuation of the urbanization process in new areas of the city, introducing service infrastructure and land planning at the project site.

Those present at the signing included Minister of Government, Security and Justice Alberto Natella, Secretary of Cabinet and Modernization of the Capital Mariano Rosales, CAMYEN Vice President Gabriel Molina, Secretary of Government and Coordination Leandro Quiroga Barros, and provincial deputies Damián Brizuela and Hernán Díaz.
