In the first half of 2026, the average price of PV systems below 300 kW in Brazil rose by 7%
en.Wedoany.com Reported - Brazilian consultancy Greener pointed out in its strategic study "Distributed Energy Solutions" that from January to June 2026, the average system price of PV projects no larger than 300 kW in Brazil rose by 7%.

The study shows that final system prices vary significantly with installed scale: 30 kW and 50 kW installation projects cost 2.02 Brazilian reais per watt (USD 0.38), while 2 kW systems reach 3.62 Brazilian reais per watt.
The survey counts the final price of PV systems including equipment kits and integration services. Kit costs come from price surveys and inquiries to distributors, while final system prices are collected from system integrators across Brazil. The difference between the two is the integration cost, which includes the integrator's technical and operating profit.
The average price of 2 kW systems rose from 3.44 Brazilian reais per watt in January to 3.62 Brazilian reais per watt in June, equivalent to about 7,200 Brazilian reais in system price based on total installed capacity. Among the system sizes surveyed, 30 kW and 50 kW systems had the lowest price per watt, at 2.02 Brazilian reais per watt, with total system prices of approximately 60,600 Brazilian reais and 101,000 Brazilian reais, respectively.

Larger projects have lower prices per watt but require higher overall investment. For example, the average price of a 300 kW system is 2.40 Brazilian reais per watt, equivalent to about 720,000 Brazilian reais; the average price of a ground-mounted system of the same capacity is about 834,000 Brazilian reais.
While system prices rose, equipment kit costs increased even more sharply. From January to June 2026, the average price of PV kits for 4 kW systems rose from 1.42 Brazilian reais per watt to 1.68 Brazilian reais per watt, an increase of 18.3%. The increase varied by system size: the average kit price for 300 kW systems rose from 1.02 Brazilian reais per watt in January to 1.04 Brazilian reais per watt in June, an increase of 2.0%; 50 kW systems rose from 1.14 Brazilian reais per watt to 1.24 Brazilian reais per watt, an increase of 8.8%.
Greener's historical data shows that current prices remain far below the levels of the early stage of Brazil's distributed solar market. The average price of 4 kW residential systems fell from 7.74 Brazilian reais per watt in January 2017 to 2.91 Brazilian reais per watt in June 2026; 50 kW commercial systems fell from 6.06 Brazilian reais per watt to 2.02 Brazilian reais per watt over the same period.
Behind the price trend, Brazil's distributed generation market slowed in the first half of 2026. The number of new grid connections fell by 16% compared with the same period in 2025, from 488,000 to 411,000; the number of new consumer units receiving credit offsets fell by 43%, from 951,000 to 541,000.
At the same time, the share of residential systems in new installations continued to rise. In the first half of 2026, the residential segment accounted for 65% of new capacity, compared with 39% in 2019; the commercial segment's share fell to 19%.
The concentration of sales in smaller systems highlights the importance of pricing to residential consumers. In the survey of system integrators, 80% of integrators listed residential systems no larger than 12 kW as their best-selling category, commercial systems from 12 kW to 75 kW accounted for 16%, and systems above 75 kW accounted for 4%.
Financing may also affect purchasing decisions. In the first half of 2026, only 33% of integrators' sales involved financing, down 8 percentage points from 2025, the lowest share recorded during the period analyzed.
