en.Wedoany.com Reported - On September 29, Juniper Green Cosmic Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of India's Juniper Green Energy, commissioned an additional 100.64MWh battery energy storage system at the Bikaner Phase II project in Rajasthan. Following this commissioning, Juniper Green Cosmic's operational energy storage capacity increased from 100.64MWh to 201.28MWh; as of that day, Juniper Green Energy and its projects had approximately 2,725MWp of operational renewable energy capacity and approximately 600MWh of battery energy storage capacity.

The newly added storage capacity utilizes the existing grid connection of the Bikaner project. According to previous documents from India's Central Transmission Utility CTUIL, Juniper Green Cosmic had obtained 100MW of grid-connected capacity at the 220kV substation of Bikaner Phase II and applied in 2025 to add energy storage facilities within the same grid-connected capacity; the application initially listed 25.39MW BESS, and the company subsequently clarified the declared capacity to 25MW.

The Bikaner project already has its first batch of energy storage facilities in operation. Juniper Green Energy first commissioned 60MWh of commercial energy storage capacity on December 24, 2025; this batch completed trial operation and obtained approval from India's Northern Regional Load Despatch Centre; the remaining 40MWh was commissioned on January 23, 2026, marking the full entry into commercial operation of the first-phase 100MWh energy storage system.

The first-phase 100MWh project adopts a market-oriented operating model and can participate in peak-valley price arbitrage, grid balancing, and ancillary services markets. With the addition of 100.64MWh in Bikaner Phase II, Juniper Green Cosmic has formed a commissioned energy storage scale of 201.28MWh locally. The new facilities continue to use the project's existing grid connection conditions, without a simultaneous increase in the original grid connection capacity.

Juniper Green Energy concentrated its addition of energy storage assets in the first quarter of fiscal year 2026, commissioning 403MWh BESS in that quarter, bringing its operational energy storage scale to 503MWh as of the end of June, while also possessing approximately 2,575MWp of operational renewable energy assets. After the commissioning of the newly added capacity at Bikaner Phase II at the end of September, its group's operational energy storage scale further increased to approximately 600MWh.
