en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 13, data center developer DayOne secured an additional RM15 billion (approximately US$3.67 billion) in financing arranged by a syndicate of seven banks to expand its hyperscale data center facilities in Johor, Malaysia. The financing comprises a US$2.4 billion offshore term loan and RM5.5 billion in Murabahah financing. Combined with the RM15 billion financing obtained in 2025, DayOne's total data center financing arrangements in Johor have reached RM30 billion.

The financing was jointly arranged by CIMB, Crédit Agricole CIB, DBS, Maybank, OCBC, Standard Chartered, and UOB. The seven institutions served as lead arrangers, bookrunners, and joint coordinators, with the loan structured as a combination of offshore US dollar term loans and local Malaysian Islamic financing. The new funds will be used for the next phase of capacity construction under DayOne's Johor data center platform.

DayOne currently operates two data center facilities in Johor—Nusajaya Tech Park and Kempas Tech Park—with a combined existing capacity of approximately 120 megawatts. In June 2026, the company, through its subsidiary DayOne Data Centers Malaysia III, signed a land purchase agreement with an entity under Paragon Globe to acquire approximately 26 hectares of land in the Tanjung Kupang area of Johor for RM398.11 million, intended for future data center construction.

According to DayOne's US listing application filed in October 2026, as of September 20, the company had 962 megawatts of operational data center capacity globally, with approximately 1.3 gigawatts under construction, and the related capacity under construction is expected to be delivered progressively by December 2028. Its facilities are located across Malaysia, Indonesia, and other Asian and European markets.
