en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 13, the Virginia state government announced that M.C. Dean plans to invest $412.5 million to expand its Modular Mission Critical modular equipment manufacturing base in Caroline County, building two new manufacturing plants with a total area of approximately 180,400 square meters to increase production capacity for power, communications, and automation system modules. The project is expected to add 1,950 jobs and plans to expand the manufacturing facility area of the entire campus to more than 334,500 square meters by 2030.

According to the expansion plan, one of the plants will be built in the existing main campus, with a building area of 442,000 square feet, approximately 41,100 square meters; the other plant will be located in the company's 600-acre north campus, with a building area of 1.5 million square feet, approximately 139,400 square meters. The new production facilities will be equipped with industrial machinery, automated production systems, and industrial robotics equipment.

At this base, M.C. Dean carries out the design, integration, manufacturing, and commissioning of power systems, mechanical systems, communications, automation, security, and life safety systems, with products serving data centers, industrial manufacturing, healthcare, transportation, and other critical infrastructure projects. The company plans to manufacture large power modules through modular production methods and complete equipment integration and testing at the factory.

Bill Dean, CEO of M.C. Dean, said at the time of the project announcement that the company's production goal for 2026 is to deliver one large power module every 30 minutes. This expansion will increase the production space for modular manufacturing. After the company's land layout in Caroline County is expanded, the campus land scale will reach 1,300 acres, approximately 526 hectares.

The Virginia Major Employment and Investment Project Approval Commission has approved a state support package of up to $45 million, and the related funds still require approval by the state legislature. The Virginia Economic Development Partnership will provide recruitment and customized skills training support through the Virginia Talent Accelerator Program. M.C. Dean also plans to establish a Power Systems Training Center at Caroline High School in 2027 to provide electrical system skills training.
