en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 14, Swiss mining and commodities company Glencore officially commenced trading on the Australian Securities Exchange under the ticker code GLC. The secondary listing takes the form of CHESS Depositary Interests (CDIs), with each CDI representing a beneficial interest in one ordinary share of Glencore, involving no new share issuance or additional fundraising. The company retains its primary listing on the London Stock Exchange and its secondary listing on the Johannesburg Stock Exchange.

Glencore announced on September 25 that it had satisfied the substantive requirements for a foreign exempt listing on the Australian Securities Exchange and appointed Computershare Investor Services to manage local CDI registration. UK and South African investors holding the company's ordinary shares may convert their existing shares into depositary interests traded on the Australian market through designated procedures.

Glencore currently operates 16 mines and 7 metal processing facilities in Australia, covering coal, copper, zinc, lead, nickel and cobalt resources, and employs approximately 16,820 employees and contractors. Its metal processing operations are located in Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory, involving concentrator, smelting and refining facilities.

In 2025, Glencore's operating expenditure in Australia reached AUD 19.3 billion, of which AUD 14.21 billion was spent on goods and services procured from 6,440 Australian businesses, and AUD 2.4 billion was paid to governments in taxes and royalties. Over the past five years, the company's cumulative direct contribution to the Australian economy amounted to approximately AUD 95 billion.
