en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 22, the U.S. chemical company DuPont announced the launch of AmberChrom SIL, a new reversed-phase silica gel chromatography material, for the production and purification processes of glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) receptor agonists and other peptide drugs. The product is available in two surface chemistry types, C8 and C18, and can be used for impurity removal from crude peptides, intermediate purification, and final high-purity polishing, supporting the transition from process development to large-scale drug manufacturing.

AmberChrom SIL employs silica-based reversed-phase chromatography technology and offers two selectivity configurations, C8 and C18, suitable for peptide production processes with different impurity profiles and separation requirements. The product can be used across multiple purification steps, covering impurity separation after crude processing and final polishing. Application studies published by DuPont show that the material remains stable under common peptide purification conditions and achieves corresponding purity and yield performance.

The new material can also be used in combination with DuPont's existing AmberChrom XT chromatography resins to form purification processes that combine silica-based and polymer-based chromatography materials. According to the company's product configuration, resins such as AmberChrom TQ1 and AmberChrom CG can also be incorporated into the same multi-stage purification workflow. DuPont has conducted application studies on the combined use of AmberChrom SIL and AmberChrom XT, testing purification performance and process compatibility under multi-stage separation conditions.

On April 14, 2026, DuPont launched AmberChrom XT20 SL and XT30 SL chromatography resins, supplied in pre-slurried form that can proceed directly to column packing, reducing the hydration steps required before use of traditional dry resins. The newly added AmberChrom SIL follows a silica-based reversed-phase separation material approach, and together with the existing polymer chromatography resins covers downstream purification processes for peptide and oligonucleotide drugs.
