en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 28, U.S. oilfield services company Halliburton confirmed that its Optime service division, in collaboration with Petrobras, completed the first deployment of its Remote Operations Control System (ROCS) in a deepwater well completion operation offshore Brazil. Petrobras used the system to complete the subsea intelligent completion installation of a deepwater well, performing the relevant operations via remote control and eliminating the control umbilical required for conventional completion operations.

The deepwater completion operation was jointly advanced by Halliburton and Petrobras. The two parties completed operation planning, control system integration, equipment testing, and offshore construction, and configured the ROCS system according to the technical requirements of the well.

During the actual installation phase, the ROCS system replaced the conventional control umbilical solution, reducing the control equipment that needed to be deployed offshore during completion. The system was used to perform the remote control tasks required for the subsea intelligent completion installation.
