Wedoany.com Report-Jul. 19, JA Solar will supply DeepBlue 4.0 Pro modules for the Korlat solar photovoltaic project (SPP) in northern Dalmatia, Croatia, located 1 km northeast of Korlat village and 7 km northwest of Benkovac. Under construction, the project is set to launch in 2026 as Croatia’s largest solar power plant.

The solar installation at the plant will feature photovoltaic panels with a planned capacity of 99MWp.

Part of the Korlat energy park, which includes an existing wind farm, the 150-hectare SPP is a joint effort by China Northern International Group and Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting Institute. It features 99 MWp of photovoltaic capacity, connecting to the 110kV grid via the TS 33/110kV Korlat substation with a 75 MW connection capacity. Single-axis solar tracking systems will optimize energy output.

Funded by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development and the European Investment Bank, the project supports Croatia’s goal of 88% renewable electricity by 2050. It will produce 165 GWh annually, supplying 50,000 households and cutting carbon emissions by 150,000 tons yearly.

JA Solar’s Aiqing Yang said: “We are proud to support this landmark project with our most advanced PV technology. The Korlat project reflects our commitment to enabling a more sustainable future through innovation and global collaboration.” Croatian Prime Minister Andrej Plenković stated: “The project is a critical part of the country’s energy transition,” praising the partners’ expertise. Chinese Ambassador Qi Qianjin noted: “The project demonstrates the strength of China–Croatia cooperation in renewable energy and will contribute to local economic development.”

The Korlat SPP advances Croatia’s sustainable energy goals through cutting-edge technology and international partnership.
