Wedoany.com Report-Jul. 18, IONNA, a joint venture backed by BMW, General Motors, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Stellantis, and Toyota, has partnered with Wawa, a leading U.S. convenience store chain, to install ultra-fast electric vehicle (EV) chargers across multiple U.S. locations.

The first site will launch next week at Wawa’s W. International Speedway store in Daytona Beach, Florida, with additional “Rechargeries” under construction in Bradenton, Pensacola, and Orlando. This collaboration advances IONNA’s national charging network goals and supports Wawa’s expansion of EV infrastructure.

The Daytona Beach site will feature IONNA’s 400kW Genuine Charge Dispensers with blue-and-orange branding, canopy coverage, car care amenities, and access to Wawa’s refreshments and restrooms, combining convenience with advanced charging technology.

IONNA CEO Seth Cutler stated: “Next week’s opening of the IONNA Rechargery at Wawa in Daytona Beach will bring our total bay count to 212 live and 3,064 contracted. That is over 10% contracted to our 2030 live bay goal in just over a year.” IONNA aims to deploy 30,000 fast-charging bays across North America by 2030.

Wawa’s chief fuel officer, Rich Makin, noted: “With an ongoing commitment to providing our customers with speed and convenience, our new collaboration with IONNA does just that.” The partnership enhances the EV charging experience by integrating high-speed chargers with Wawa’s customer services.

This initiative bolsters the U.S. EV charging network, supporting increased EV adoption with accessible, high-speed charging options.
