Teltronic Provides Secure, Reliable TETRA Communications for Vietnam’s First Urban Rail Line

Wedoany.com Report-Aug. 19, Teltronic, a leading communication solutions provider, has successfully deployed its TETRA radio system for Ho Chi Minh City’s Metro Line 1, marking the launch of the city’s first urban rail line. As the technology partner for Hitachi Rail, the project’s main contractor, Teltronic designed, supplied, and implemented a comprehensive communication solution to support the line’s operations.

The TETRA system includes network infrastructure ensuring coverage across the 19.7-kilometer route, which connects Ben Thanh in the city center to Suoi Tien in the northeast. The solution features onboard radio equipment and control consoles for the 17 trains, portable and fixed terminals for maintenance and security staff, and a control center with six operator workstations across two locations. Teltronic integrated its system with other train subsystems, including Public Address, intercom, and the Train Control & Management System, ensuring seamless functionality.
