In three years, Gamuda Land UK has built a skilled team specializing in planning, design, development management, and commercial delivery, supported by dedicated teams in Malaysia focused on UK projects. This milestone highlights the company’s progress toward self-sufficiency in the UK market.

Niall Farmer, head of Gamuda Land UK, stated: “This step towards self-sufficiency is a natural evolution for us. Marshgate demonstrates our ability to manage the full lifecycle in the UK, while we continue to remain open to joint venture partnerships that align with our investment criteria.”

The Marshgate Lane project, located in London’s Zone 2/3, is set for completion in 2028 and adds to Gamuda Land’s expanding PBSA portfolio, which now totals 1,232 beds across London and Glasgow. Other projects include Press House in Woolwich, London Zone 4, with 419 beds in a joint venture with Singapore-based Q Investment Partners, scheduled for phased completion between 2026 and 2027, and City Wharf in Glasgow, with 492 beds in collaboration with Dandara Living, expected to be completed in 2026.

Beyond PBSA, Gamuda Land is advancing a £1.2 billion office redevelopment at 75 London Wall, where Multiplex is engaged in preconstruction services and is expected to be appointed as the main contractor soon. Tenant discussions for this project are progressing steadily. Additionally, Gamuda Land is developing West Hampstead Central, a residential build-to-sell project in north London.

Farmer further noted: “We are committed to scaling in the UK through disciplined acquisitions, sustainable design and strategic partnerships. With our growing London presence, we see strong opportunities for further growth and collaboration with institutional investors who share our long-term sustainable outlook.”

The Marshgate Lane development is expected to contribute to the local economy by creating jobs and supporting sustainable urban growth in Stratford. Gamuda Land’s focus on environmentally responsible design and strategic acquisitions strengthens its position in the UK property market, fostering long-term partnerships and aligning with regional development goals. This project underscores the company’s commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainable accommodations to meet the growing demand for student housing in key UK cities.
