Wedoany.com Report-Dec.4, INOX Air Products, India's leading producer of industrial, electronic, and specialty gases, has entered into a long-term supply agreement with ReNew Photovoltaics Private Limited. The partnership will provide ultra-high purity (UHP) nitrogen to ReNew's new TOPCon solar cell manufacturing plant located in Dholera, Gujarat.
To fulfil the commitment, INOX Air Products will invest in and construct a dedicated, state-of-the-art Air Separation Unit (ASU) at the Dholera site. The facility will be engineered to deliver nitrogen that meets the exacting purity and consistency standards required for advanced solar cell production. The ASU is scheduled to commence full operations by the end of 2025.
Diganta Sarma, Head of Business Development & Strategy at INOX Air Products, stated: "We are proud to deepen our partnership with ReNew through the establishment of a dedicated infrastructure for the supply of high-purity Nitrogen to their advanced solar cell facility. This long-term collaboration underscores INOXAP's commitment to empowering India's renewable energy ambitions with world-class gas solutions. Our investment in the new ASU at Dholera reflects our confidence in India's potential to emerge as a global hub for sustainable and advanced manufacturing."
The Dholera plant represents a major expansion of ReNew's solar manufacturing capacity and will utilise the latest TOPCon technology to produce high-efficiency solar cells. The project contributes to strengthening domestic production capabilities and supports India's growing role in the global photovoltaic supply chain.
INOX Air Products has supplied electronic specialty gases, including nitrous oxide, ammonia, and silane, to ReNew's existing PERC-technology solar cell facility since 2024. The company manages the entire supply chain using its own ISO containers and tube trailers, while also providing comprehensive onsite gas management services to ensure uninterrupted operations.
The new ASU will further enhance supply reliability for the TOPCon facility by producing UHP nitrogen on location, eliminating transportation-related risks and guaranteeing consistent quality. This dedicated infrastructure approach aligns with industry best practices for high-tech manufacturing environments where even minor impurities can affect product performance.
The agreement highlights the increasing collaboration between specialised gas suppliers and renewable energy manufacturers as India accelerates its solar energy development goals. Reliable access to ultra-pure industrial gases is essential for achieving high yields and maintaining the performance standards required in next-generation solar cell production.
By establishing this dedicated ASU, INOX Air Products reinforces its position as a key partner to the country's clean energy sector, delivering tailored solutions that support both operational efficiency and long-term sustainability objectives in advanced manufacturing.
