Wedoany.com Report-Dec.18, Suzlon Group has secured orders totaling 306 MW from Yanara, a renewable energy developer operating across the Asia-Pacific region, for two wind power projects in Barmer, Rajasthan, India.

Suzlon currently boasts over 2.3GW of installed capacity in Rajasthan.

Each contract is for 153 MW, supporting Yanara's firm and dispatchable renewable energy developments in the district. Suzlon holds over 2.3 GW of installed wind capacity in Rajasthan, corresponding to a 44% share of the state's market. The company is simultaneously progressing on additional engineering, procurement, and construction projects in Rajasthan with a combined capacity of 791 MW.

Suzlon vice-chair Girish Tanti said: "Collaborations like Suzlon and Yanara are driving India’s energy transition, proving how strong partnerships enable sustainable growth. With 30-plus years of trust, Suzlon leads India’s wind energy sector, while Yanara develops hybrid projects across APAC [Asia-Pacific], and our work together now spans Maharashtra to Rajasthan, highlighting our technology, solutions, and customer trust. Repeat orders like this demonstrate the strength of our partnership."

For the two initiatives, part of Yanara's roughly 800 MWp hybrid portfolio in Barmer, Suzlon will supply 102 units of its S144 wind turbine generators, each with a 3 MW rating and equipped with hybrid lattice towers. The generated electricity will contribute to fulfilling Yanara's supply commitments to utilities, including the National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) and National Hydroelectric Power Corporation.

Yanara specializes in grid-scale hybrid systems integrating solar, wind, and energy storage to deliver reliable clean power around the clock. These projects align with national aims for expanded energy access and reaching 500 GW of non-fossil fuel capacity by 2030.

The current Rajasthan contracts build on Yanara's previous 115 MW solar-wind hybrid project in Maharashtra, which featured a 29.4 MW Suzlon component.

Yanara chief executive officer Jerome Ortiz said: "At Yanara, we are developing pioneering projects across Asia-Pacific to accelerate the transition away from fossil fuels. The multi-technology nature of our portfolio demands trusted partners with the capability to deliver at scale; Suzlon exemplifies that strength. We are delighted to collaborate with them on our hybrid projects in India. Through such projects and partnerships, Yanara continues to embed innovation, reliability, and sustainability at the core of every development we undertake."

Earlier, in April 2025, Suzlon was awarded a 378 MW wind energy project by NTPC Green Energy. This ongoing cooperation illustrates confidence in scalable renewable technologies tailored to local conditions, facilitating effective wind resource utilization in promising locations such as Rajasthan.
