This collaboration builds on the successful implementation of the world's first 25Gbps E-band microwave link in a 5G-Advanced network deployment.

The agreement extends beyond standard procurement to establish a framework for joint innovation in data transmission technologies. It supports du's initiatives to upgrade its 5G-Advanced infrastructure, delivering enhanced speed, reliability, and scalability across the country.

As an early adopter of 5G-Advanced commercial services, du encountered limitations with existing links in meeting higher bandwidth needs, especially in areas with limited fiber availability. The new 25Gbps solution addresses these requirements effectively.

Huawei's technology incorporates advanced features, including the industry's only 2T2R E-band device capable of 26 dBm output and 25Gbps capacity in a single unit. Combined with a specialized 2-Dimension intelligent beam tracking antenna, it maintains stable signal performance despite environmental factors common in pole-mounted installations.

The platform also provides multiple 25GE ports to accommodate peak site demands for 5G-Advanced and future networks, aligning with long-term connectivity goals in the UAE.

Offering performance comparable to optical fiber, the 25Gbps E-band system serves as an efficient complementary option. It excels in rapid deployment, operational flexibility, and overall cost management. This adaptability suits various settings, from high-density urban zones to less accessible locations, improving network coverage and service quality nationwide.

The initial 25Gbps E-band link has been deployed in Al Warqa, Dubai.
