Wedoany.com Report-Dec.19, Archroma has supported the upgrade of a textile laboratory at the Institute of Chemical Technology (ICT) in Mumbai, India, as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program.
The upgraded facility boosts ICT's research and technology development in textile processing.
The improved facility will enhance ICT's capacity for fundamental research in textile manufacturing and effluent treatment. It is designed to tackle current industry challenges and foster innovation in sustainable, resource-efficient textile technologies.
Through this initiative, Archroma is providing students with access to modern infrastructure for practical training and scientific exploration. The enhancements aim to equip learners with essential technical skills and hands-on experience in textile processing, preparing them for evolving industry demands.
Archroma India regional vice president Anjani Prasad said: "Our support to ICT is part of Archroma's ongoing commitment to education and community development under our CSR program.
"We aim to contribute to an improved learning environment that enables students and researchers to develop skills relevant to sustainable textile practices. We are pleased to collaborate with ICT in strengthening academic infrastructure that benefits society."
The renovated laboratory is also expected to serve as a center for community engagement. The department intends to conduct training programs for small business owners, artisans, and local participants, emphasizing knowledge transfer, environmentally responsible processing methods, and techniques that add value while advancing sustainability goals.
ICT Department of Fibers & Textile Processing Technology head Ashok Athley said: "The upgrade of our textile laboratory, supported through the funding from Archroma, will significantly enhance our teaching and research ecosystem. This will help students, researchers, and community stakeholders access improved facilities and work on solutions aligned with sustainable development.
"We appreciate Archroma's support in strengthening academic capability for the broader societal benefit."
This collaboration builds on Archroma's earlier partnership in July 2025 with Veermata Jijabai Technological Institute (VJTI), also located in Mumbai, focused on advancing innovation in green chemistry and sustainable technology.
The project reflects ongoing efforts to integrate industry expertise with academic resources, promoting education, research, and practical applications in sustainable textile development.
