Wedoany.com Report-Dec.19, Circulose has entered into a supply agreement with Birla Cellulose to provide recycled pulp derived from cellulosic textile waste. Birla Cellulose will utilize this material to produce and distribute textile fibre products across its supply chain.

Birla Cellulose and Circulose agree to jointly expedite textile recycling initiatives.

The partnership aims to strengthen the availability of recycled fibres, ensuring a stable supply for environmentally responsible textile manufacturing.

Birla Cellulose business head Vadiraj Kulkarni said: "Our partnership with Circulose marks a significant step forward in advancing sustainable and responsible sourcing. Through this collaboration, we reaffirm our commitment to delivering high-quality, sustainability conscious fibre solutions that empower our customers and contribute to a circular future."

Birla Cellulose operates as a producer of man-made cellulosic fibres with a focus on sustainability. It manages 10 pulp and fibre production sites along with five advanced research centres featuring pilot plants and specialized facilities.

Circulose, a Swedish company specializing in sustainable technology, has patented a process that transforms cellulosic textile waste into a renewable material branded as Circulose.

Circulose CEO Jonatan Janmark said: "Over the past year, we have refined our approach to put brands at the centre, with a clear focus on creating offerings that enable mainstream adoption. Achieving this requires closer collaboration with key partners across the value chain. Our partnership with Birla Cellulose is a cornerstone of our strategy, and we're very excited to have them onboard."

This arrangement supports greater integration of recycled content in textile production, promoting resource efficiency and reduced environmental impact within the industry.

In October 2024, Birla Cellulose established a separate long-term strategic partnership with Circ, a United States-based company engaged in textile-to-textile recycling initiatives.

The collaboration with Circulose further expands Birla Cellulose's efforts to incorporate recycled materials, enhancing options for customers seeking sustainable fibre solutions.
