Wedoany.com Report-Dec.31, On December 29, Capital Clean Energy Carriers (CCEC), owned by Greek shipping magnate Evangelos Marinakis, announced a further expansion, having placed an order at HD Hyundai Samho CO.LTD for three state-of-the-art LNG carriers, scheduled for delivery in 2028 and 2029.

Specifically, CCEC has ordered three LNG carriers from HD Hyundai Samho, with one vessel planned for delivery in the third quarter of 2028 and the other two in the first quarter of 2029. The total value of the three LNG carriers is $769.5 million.

CCEC stated that this series of vessels incorporates several design upgrades, aiming to be among the most efficient LNG carriers, with expected lower fuel consumption and boil-off rates.

CCEC noted that with the recent addition of three new LNG carrier orders, it further solidifies its strategic position as the largest listed LNG carrier operator in the United States. CCEC currently has 12 modern LNG carriers in operation and nine newbuild LNG carriers, with delivery windows spanning from the third quarter of 2026 to the first quarter of 2029. This aligns with the anticipated growth in global LNG supply, which is expected to increase from the current 493 million tons per year to at least 649 million tons per year by 2030. Additionally, CCEC has ordered another 10 gas carriers, including four small-scale LCO2 carriers and six dual-fuel medium-sized gas carriers, with deliveries set to begin in the first quarter of 2026.

Jerry Kalogiratos, CEO of CCEC, said, "For CCEC, this transaction is a timely move, closely linked to the company's executed strategy and forward objectives."
