Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly recently announced that a 100 MW green hydrogen project in the country's Ain Sokhna Industrial Zone has commenced partial production and plans to gradually expand its production scale. The project is being implemented through a collaboration between Norway's Scatec, the Egyptian Sovereign Fund, Orascom Construction, and Fertiglobe.

The Egyptian government stated in a declaration that the primary target market for this project is Europe, and it has received support from the European Union and related financial institutions. This 100 MW green hydrogen project is one of Egypt's key initiatives to promote the development of the renewable energy industry and build a hydrogen economy. The gradual advancement of the project aims to supply low-carbon green hydrogen products to the European market.
