Wedoany.com Report on Feb 6th, SunRobi, the robotics-assisted construction division of Sunstall, has recently become the first certified operator for Cosmic Robotics' autonomous solar module installation system. This certification is based on the successful deployment of the Cosmic-1A system across multiple operational solar projects in the United States.

This certification signifies the establishment of an execution-focused partnership between SunRobi and Cosmic Robotics, with both parties committed to applying advanced construction robotics in real-world production environments. Through extensive field practice, the SunRobi team has integrated autonomous installation technology into existing EPC workflows, demonstrating how robotics can enhance the efficiency, consistency, and workforce sustainability of utility-scale projects.

Rather than viewing automation as a standalone tool, SunRobi collaborated with Cosmic Robotics to integrate the Cosmic-1A system into the entire project lifecycle, covering everything from logistics planning and layout design to on-site execution. In practical deployments, the system serves as a capability enhancer for experienced teams, achieving higher throughput while reducing physical strain and variability in installation quality.

"With solar demand continuing to grow, the construction industry needs to keep pace while avoiding workforce burnout," said Helge Biernath, CEO of Sunstall. "Robotics-assisted installation allows us to scale responsibly. This is no longer an experiment but a production-ready technology available today."

Through this work, SunRobi is advancing a robotics-assisted construction model where automation is designed to augment rather than replace skilled labor. By designing projects around robotic capabilities, SunRobi enables smaller, highly trained teams to execute larger projects with greater predictability and safety.

"SunRobi demonstrates what's possible when advanced robotics are operated by those with a deep understanding of the construction industry," said James Emerick, Co-founder and CEO of Cosmic Robotics. "Their successful integration of Cosmic-1A into live projects has helped move autonomous installation from experimentation to production."

Cosmic Robotics' Certified Operator designation recognizes EPC teams with proven, hands-on experience deploying Cosmic's autonomous systems in real construction environments. The certification reflects demonstrated capability in operating, maintaining, and optimizing robotic equipment to deliver predictable, high-quality results at scale.
