The company provides transportation solutions for finished vehicles and auto parts across North America. Utilizing its three-coast network that reaches Vancouver, Halifax, and Mobile, CN connects the automotive industry with service options throughout the supply chain. The network supports 12 assembly plants in Ontario, Mississippi, and Michigan, and operates 18 auto compounds dedicated to distributing vehicles to dealerships.
CN has introduced a new compound in New Richmond, Wisconsin, and operates the AutoMOBILE International Terminal in Alabama. The company has also partnered with Stanley Robotics to implement robotic vehicle movement within its auto compounds, aiming to improve safety and efficiency. Investments continue in network capacity and technology, including the modernization of auto compounds and equipping all Canadian auto compounds with electric vehicle charging stations.
