Wedoany.com Report-Nov 27, Saipem, in partnership with PT Meindo Elang Indah, has secured an offshore EPCI contract from BP Berau Ltd. The contract, worth approximately $1.2 billion, covers the development of offshore facilities for natural gas production, CO2 capture, utilization, and storage (CCUS) as part of the Tangguh UCC project. Saipem's share of the contract is about $1 billion.
Saipem's scope includes engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of two wellhead production platforms, a wellhead platform for CO2 re-injection, and around 90 km of associated pipelines. The platforms will be fabricated at Saipem’s Karimun yard, the company’s largest worldwide, and one of the largest in Southeast Asia.
This contract strengthens Saipem’s position in the natural gas and CO2 capture sectors, backed by its extensive engineering and technological expertise.
