Malaysian telecom service provider Tune Talk has achieved a key milestone in its transformation from a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) to a full-fledged mobile network operator (MNO) by initiating the operation of its own end-to-end network system through a cooperation agreement with Mavenir.

Mavenir stated that this partnership enables Tune Talk to independently manage its network operations using Mavenir's cloud-native OSS and BSS platform. This adjustment enhances the operator's control over the network, improves system stability, and accelerates the launch of new digital services.
Based on the upgraded network architecture, Tune Talk has already launched several new services, covering digital identity verification, Mastercard identity theft protection, insurance products, as well as in-app video streaming and game subscriptions.
The partners plan to introduce advanced orchestration capabilities and next-generation AI-driven BSS software in subsequent phases to enhance automation and service customization.
Gurtaj Singh Padda, CEO of Tune Talk, stated that this initiative is a strategic milestone for the company's development. He said: "Transforming into a fully cloud-native mobile network operator opens a new chapter for Tune Talk, strengthening our vision to build a smarter and more agile mobile network in Malaysia and surrounding regions. This technological foundation allows us to accelerate our actions, achieve scalable personalization of services, and create more value for our continuously expanding customer base through AI innovation."
Pardeep Kohli, President and CEO of Mavenir, added that this cooperation reflects Tune Talk's commitment to technological innovation. He said: "Our comprehensive cloud-native solution is crucial for achieving the speed, flexibility, and operational efficiency required by Tune Talk, helping it to consistently deliver high-quality services to customers."
Since its establishment in 2009, Tune Talk has operated as a mobile virtual network operator, relying on a wholesale agreement with CelcomDigi to provide nationwide 4G and 5G network coverage.
This transformation places Tune Talk among the growing number of telecom operators adopting cloud-native infrastructure, as they pursue greater autonomy, cost optimization, and rapid service innovation in an increasingly competitive mobile communications market.
