Wedoany.com Report on Feb 26th, Recently, Turkey and Uzbekistan signed multiple agreements during the High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council meeting held in Ankara, expanding their comprehensive strategic partnership to include the energy, chemical, and industrial sectors. The meeting clearly identified energy as a key area for cooperation. Driven by regional connectivity projects such as the "Middle Corridor," collaboration between the two countries in energy resource development, chemical product trade, and industrial investment is expected to strengthen, jointly shaping a new landscape for energy and economic cooperation across Eurasia.

The meeting outcomes directly involved the energy and chemical sectors. The two sides signed a bilateral agreement covering cooperation in mining projects and agreed to expand collaboration in the field of nuclear safety. This indicates that their cooperation is extending from general trade to upstream segments of the industrial chain, such as resource development and advanced energy technologies, further deepening strategic cooperation in energy and chemicals.

Economic and trade data reveal the close ties and complementarity between the two countries in the energy and chemical fields. Currently, bilateral trade between Turkey and Uzbekistan is close to $3 billion, with a target of $5 billion. Uzbekistan's main exports to Turkey include mineral products, plastics, and rubber; Turkey's exports to Uzbekistan are primarily chemical products, plastics and rubber, and machinery and equipment. This trade structure shows that Uzbekistan mainly supplies raw materials and primary products, while Turkey exports higher value-added manufactured goods and production equipment, reinforcing the foundation for strategic cooperation in energy and chemicals.
