High-manganese austenitic steels Mn13, X120Mn12, and Mn12 exhibit excellent toughness and significant surface work-hardening properties. Under strong impact or extrusion loads, the stressed surface undergoes work hardening, with surface hardness increasing significantly from an initial level of around HB200 to over HB750, while the core of the steel plate retains excellent impact toughness. These steels are widely used in mining equipment and machinery manufacturing, such as shot blasting equipment and large jaw crushers.
