The solution relies on ultrasonic water meters, which detect the time difference produced by changes in the propagation speed of an ultrasonic beam when travelling downstream and upstream in water, analyse and process this time difference to obtain the water velocity, and then further calculate the water flow rate. Since the meter contains no mechanical moving parts, it features low pressure loss, long service life, direct electrical signal output, easy calibration of measurement characteristics, and excellent repeatability. The emergence of fully electronic water meters has opened an ideal path for comprehensively improving the performance of water flow measurement in fully enclosed pipelines.
