Self-adhesive flame retardant and arc proofing tape is a self-adhesive tape with fireproof, heat insulation and arc resistance, specially used for fireproofing of cable joints and adjacent power line.
Self-adhesive flame retardant and arc proofing tape will expand rapidly when exposed to fire, and a thick carbon compound all over the cable oversheath, to eventually maintain heat insulation and fire prevention. Moreover, this tape has excellent arc resistance. In the event of arc caused by short circuit, followed by fire, it can act as a barrier and guarantee the safe operation of cables.
Product Features
The product has excellent flame retardant function with high oxygen index. The flame on the tapes will be extinguished right after being deviated from fire source, and then the tapes can act as heat shield or fire-proof plate, in that case, the flame can't spread and the cable can be well protected;
Excellent self-adhesive function when spirally wrapped on cable surfaces. No other accessories are needed to fix the end of tapes;
Excellent formability, the product is shown as a form of elastomer without any rigid or hard fiber. Hand injury can be well avoided with quality material. The product is also easy to install;
The product can be spirally wrapped easily without any wrinkles, and also fits cables and irregular-shaped accessories perfectly;
Excellent function of waterproofing, acid resistance, alkali resistance, salt tolerance and UV-stability, all of these can offer long-term protection for cables;

Application
For fire prevention of cables joints and terminations;
Fire prevention of the inlet-outlet lines in switchgear;

Installation instruction
Step 1. Clean the surface of cable, cable joints or other places to be protected;
Step 2. Unpack the tapes, and remove the from the tape; Spirally wrap the tape from the bottom to the top and also from the connection to the cable side,
Step 3. There is no front side or back side for the tape. It need to be spread out smoothly when wrapped, and do not fold or overlap; Stretching the tape to 200% of its length, and then wrap it with a 50% overlap.
Step 4. When the tape is finished for wrapping, it has to be a smooth surface without protrusions at the end of tapes. Stretch the tape end and wrap it back to tapes applied previously, then pressing the tape end hard for 2-3 seconds until a good bonding has been maintained between layers.
Attention:
This product contains chemical materials. Do not swallow;
This product shall be stored in dry place under storage temp 0°C~30°C;
During the whole process of installing, the operator should keep hands clean, especially oil free on hands; No blister, oily stain or moisture shall be allowed between layers;
Press the tape end hard until a good bonding has been maintained between layers.
