The gantry, on which the X-axes carriage is assembled ,has been designed using one solid piece of stabilized steel. The X and Y axes movements were designed with helical toothed ground racks and pinions, the linear guides were designed with caged balls and the Z axe travel (265 mm) incorporates a ground ball screw lifting system. The fully digital BMPDIGIT numerical control has a user-friendly interface, based on Windows CE. A hand-held keypad interface with a LCD display allows the operator to control all the machine functions including jogging the machine, setting work parameters, tool preset, origin settings and remote computer system works file download (G-code or HPGL). The automatic tool change system spindle is for ISO30 shank tool holders and has a power of 8Kw. The manual tool change system spindle has a power of 6Kw and ERG32 tool holder collet.
