these fully automatic cnc controlled gear measuring centers have been designed for the larger workpiece diameter up to 1500 mm resp. 2000 mm. the measuring centers are suitable for testing spur and helical gears as well a......these fully automatic cnc controlled gear measuring centers have been designed for the larger workpiece diameter up to 1500 mm resp. 2000 mm. the measuring centers are suitable for testing spur and helical gears as well as hobs, shaper- and shaving cutters, worms and wormgears, bevel gears and general deviations in dimension, form and location of rotationsymmetrical workpieces, curve and camshaft measurements and rotors. in addition to the mechanical components of the measuring centers such as bed, workpiece rotation, the tailstock, the horizontal, vertical and tangential measuring axis and the 3d tracer head, a 4-axis path control in conjunction with a computer ensures the functions of this machine. to cope with the high workpiece weights, the design of the machine bed and the workpiece rotation is suitable for supporting heavier weights and incorporates considerable reserves. the aligning process for large and heavy workpieces is eased by means of special auxiliary equipment. preparatory works for carrying out a measurement are extremely simple on this machine concept. after switching on the measuring machine, the reference point is automatically accepted by individual measuring axes. once the evaluating computer has read the program and data into the machine control, the measuring center is ready for use. where a new, a yet unknown workpiece is to be tested, a measuring program must be provided prior to the automatic measuring cycle. for repeat measurements of a workpiece, activation of a stored measuring program by input of a workpiece number is adequate. extensive software programs are available to evaluate the measuring results.
