The landing joint is lowered into the well with the completion string to provide a precise landing position for the downhole flow control tool. When completing the well, multiple landing joints with the same inner diameter can be lowered into the string in any order as needed, so that any number of positions can be provided in the string to land and lock the downhole flow control tool.

The flow control tool and the matching locking mandrel are lowered into the well together with the running tool carried by the wire. The wire operator selects the corresponding running tool, and this running process does not require well killing.
