Wedoany.com Report on Mar 3rd, Semtech Corporation, a provider focused on high-performance semiconductors and Internet of Things (IoT) systems, showcased its cellular IoT and LoRa technology portfolio this week at the MWC26 event in Barcelona, Spain. The company has extensive experience in IoT connectivity, and this showcase aimed to directly convey its expertise to industry customers and partners.

Ross Gray, Senior Vice President and General Manager of IoT Systems and Connectivity at Semtech, stated: "We have a strong track record in IoT connectivity. MWC26 Barcelona provided us with an opportunity to engage directly with customers and partners to collectively shape the future of the industry."

During MWC26, Semtech participated in the GSMA IoT Summit, celebrating the global deployment of 1 billion cellular low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) devices, a milestone reflecting a decade of sustained growth for the ecosystem. The company also served as a technical partner for the GSMA Motorsport Connectivity Initiative, CircuitX, supporting Al Kamel in demonstrating how ultra-low latency 5G networks can transform racing operations and fan experiences, including real-time race support and in-car high-definition video broadcasts. CircuitX debuted on March 1 at the Barcelona-Catalunya Circuit, followed by a showcase in Hall 6 at MWC26 Barcelona.

At MWC26 Barcelona, Semtech highlighted key innovations from its IoT portfolio, including PowerWise eSIM and video compression technologies. These innovations utilize intelligent multi-IMSI SIM technology to dynamically expand coverage, providing stable connectivity for battery-constrained smart metering and critical video surveillance applications. Additionally, the HL7900E 5G low-power wide-area network (LPWA) module is the latest addition to the company's field-proven cellular LPWA portfolio, specifically designed for smart electricity, gas, and water metering deployments, offering deep coverage and ultra-low power operation.

Other showcased products included the AirLink® RX400 and EX400 routers, featuring 5G RedCap performance with standby power consumption below one watt, making them suitable for remote and off-grid deployments. The LR2021 LoRa Plus™ transceiver covers both traditional and emerging IoT use cases, supporting multi-protocol operation and data rates up to 2.6 Mbps for device-to-edge AI connectivity, applied in areas such as image and audio classification and predictive maintenance.

Semtech's IoT portfolio is extensive, encompassing chips, embedded cellular modules, rugged routers, IoT mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), and cloud-managed non-terrestrial satellite communication services, offering a complete solution from chip to cloud. Throughout MWC26 Barcelona, Semtech IoT experts were available for service in the Executive Meeting Room 7B4Ex in Hall 7, further promoting the application and development of IoT technology.
