Wedoany.com Report-Dec 07,The Government of Malta has launched a pre-qualification questionnaire in advance of what the government hopes will be the country's first offshore wind farm.

The floating wind farm will have a capacity of between 280MW and 320MW, and will be awarded a contract for difference with Malta's Ministry for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness.

The possible site locations have water depths of between 100 and 150 metres.

The ministry will select a shortlist of five companies to receive in Invitation to Participate in Dialogue. After the dialogue stage, the government will launch the Best and Final Offer stage, when developers will submit

The government will cold a clarification meeting for potential bidders on 14 January, and has set itself a deadline of adjusting the pre-qualification questionnaire of 21 February.

Developers are required to submit responses to the questionnaire by 28 March.
