Wedonay.com Report on Mar 19th, The Chilean International Lithium and Energy Chamber (CIL Lithium) will host the "Mission Between Worlds III" from April 16th to 26th, organizing industry representatives, indigenous communities, academia, and government personnel to visit the Lithium Triangle salt flats. This expedition, starting from San Pedro de Atacama in the Antofagasta Region, aims to strengthen cooperation and sustainable development in the Lithium Triangle region.

The Lithium Triangle, encompassing Chile's Atacama Salt Flat, Bolivia's Uyuni and Coipasa Salt Flats, and Argentina's Olaroz Salt Flat, holds over 50% of the world's lithium resources, making it a crucial area for the global energy transition. Pamela Goicovich, President of the International Lithium and Energy Chamber, stated: "This program will bring together lithium producers, technology companies, community representatives, investors, and institutional leaders to promote economic diplomacy, technological cooperation, and sustainable development around the key minerals for the energy transition."

In recent years, operations and innovative projects in the Lithium Triangle region have continued to strengthen. Companies like SQM Litio and Albemarle in Chile have solidified the country's position as a major producer. Projects in Argentina, such as Arcadium Lithium and Tianqi Lithium, are expanding production. Bolivia is developing the potential of the Uyuni Salt Flat through international cooperation. This Lithium Triangle expedition mission will promote the establishment of a regional cooperation framework, including the creation of the Andean Lithium Trilateral Alliance (CTLA), to advance shared sustainability standards and technological traceability.

The meeting will also advance the design of the LIFE certification (Lithium Integrated for the Earth), referred to as the "Green Lithium Certification" for the Americas, which aims to ensure lithium production meets standards of technological innovation, territorial respect, and sustainable development. Sebastián Quiñones, Strategic Director of the International Lithium and Energy Chamber, added: "The Lithium Triangle can become a global model for a responsible energy transition. The future of lithium must stem from a dialogue between scientific innovation, environmental responsibility, and community wisdom."

This Lithium Triangle expedition mission will involve partners such as Iliad Technologies and Rain Resources Technologies, and will include technical territorial visits to companies like Exar and SQM, as well as local communities. The itinerary includes an official welcome ceremony on April 17th, travel to the Uyuni Salt Flat from April 18th to 21st, visits to the Olaroz Salt Flat on April 22nd and 23rd, an inspection of the Atacama Salt Flat on April 24th, and a closing event on April 25th. Through this mission, the International Lithium and Energy Chamber hopes to position the Lithium Triangle as a global laboratory for energy cooperation and sustainable development.
