Mining engineering refers to the systematic engineering of exploration, extraction, processing, and safety management of mineral resources. It covers mineral prospecting, mining design, underground or open-pit mining, ore processing, transportation, and environmental and safety management. Mining engineering is a key foundational engineering that ensures the supply of energy, metals, and industrial raw materials, and is widely applied in the development of coal, metallic minerals, non-ferrous minerals, non-metallic minerals, and rare earth resources.
