en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 28, Sabi Gold Mine of Zimbabwe disclosed that the shared gold processing center it operates in the Zvishavane mining area has invested more than USD 1 million. It currently processes over 100 tons of ore per day supplied by artisanal and small-scale miners, serves more than 600 miners, and directly employs over 50 workers.

The processing center provides ore transport, grinding, and leaching services to miners incorporated into the formal cooperation mechanism. Sabi Gold previously established contractual operating arrangements with local miners and communities, with designated working areas demarcated by the government and registration and management handled through miners' associations, enabling small-scale miners to carry out production in areas that do not interfere with Sabi Gold's own mining operations.

Under the current processing revenue arrangement, 50% of the gold recovered after ore grinding and separation goes to the participating miners, while Sabi Gold retains the corresponding 50% interest in the tailings and carries out subsequent processing. The mine states that its share of the revenue is used for community projects such as local schools, clinics, and borehole water supply.

Sabi Gold's mining area was previously affected by illegal mining activities. After the mine resumed production, the company promoted the incorporation of some artisanal and small-scale miners into the contractual operation and centralized processing system. The shared processing facility has now achieved a stable processing scale and undertakes the centralized grinding and leaching of local small-scale gold ore.
