It will provide its proprietary Snamprogetti urea technology and related engineering services for a new fertilizer plant in Turkmenistan. The urea unit is designed with a production capacity of 3,500 tons per day.

Saipem stated that this project is a continuation of the cooperation among Saipem, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, and local partners in Turkmenistan. The launch of this new project coincides with Turkmenistan's acceleration in advancing the layout of its downstream natural gas industry. As a country with globally leading natural gas reserves, Turkmenistan has been continuously promoting deep-processing projects such as natural gas-to-fertilizers and natural gas-to-chemicals in recent years to enhance resource added value and export diversification.

The Snamprogetti urea technology is Saipem's core proprietary technology in the nitrogen fertilizer sector. It is well-recognized in the global fertilizer industry for its low energy consumption, high conversion rate, and operational stability.

Through this cooperation, Saipem will further expand its engineering service business in the Central Asia region. The ongoing collaboration between Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and relevant parties in Turkmenistan also provides a foundation for the smooth progress of this project.
