en.Wedoany.com Report on Mar 27th, MaxLinear, Inc. (Nasdaq: MXL) today announced the expansion of its industrial connectivity portfolio with the launch of the MxL8323x series of RS-485/RS-422 half-duplex transceivers. This series is designed to provide scalable data rates up to 50Mbps, robust ESD and EFT protection, and wide voltage compatibility for electrically harsh industrial applications. Including models MxL83232, MxL83233, MxL83234, MxL83235, and MxL83236, it meets the performance and reliability demands of modern industrial control systems.

The MxL8323x transceivers support data rates from 500kbps to 50Mbps, enabling system designers to balance performance, noise immunity, and EMI reduction across a wide range of industrial control applications. Multiple speed options within the series allow engineers to select the optimal device for each node, simplifying platform reuse while meeting diverse system requirements. These transceivers are designed to withstand ±4kV IEC 61000-4-4 Electrical Fast Transient (EFT) events, ±8kV IEC 61000-4-2 contact ESD, and ±15kV air-gap ESD. The extended ±15V common-mode range ensures stable communication in the presence of ground offset differences. Additionally, operation from a 3.0V to 5.5V power supply and a 1.65V-5.5V logic-level interface make them suitable for various embedded systems and SoCs. They support up to 256 nodes and operate over a temperature range of -40°C to +125°C.
These capabilities make the MxL8323x series ideal for applications such as smart factory automation, high-performance motor drives, HVAC systems, industrial computing, building security, and smart grid infrastructure. According to a report by Data Insights Market, the global RS-485 transceiver market remains strong, with a total addressable market of approximately $200 million in 2026. It is expected to expand at a CAGR of 5.4% by 2033, driven by increasing deployment of industrial automation, motor drive control, and smart grid infrastructure.
"Industrial systems require robust communication links that can withstand high noise, wide voltage variations, and challenging environmental operating conditions," said Dr. Amit Bavisi, Senior Vice President and General Manager of the Analog and Mixed-Signal Business Unit at MaxLinear. "The MxL8323x series is now in accelerated production at multiple customers, meeting many of these requirements through scalable data rates up to 50Mbps, high ESD and EFT immunity, wide voltage level compatibility, and support for large multi-point networks. The flexible 1.65V to 5.5V logic-level interface allows direct connection to modern low-voltage MCUs, helping to reduce system complexity, power consumption, and PCB area in space-constrained industrial designs."
"The MaxLinear MxL83234 provides the precision and reliability required for the advanced motor encoder systems our industrial customers rely on," said Masahiro Ogura, Division 3 Manager of the IN Product Department, Industrial Solutions Company, Tokyo Electron Device Limited. "We are pleased to offer engineers a solution that simplifies design while enhancing performance in demanding automation environments."
The MxL83232, MxL83233, MxL83234, MxL83235, and MxL83236 are now available in RoHS-compliant, green/halogen-free, industry-standard packages. Evaluation boards and samples are available for these models. For more information on MaxLinear's complete portfolio of serial transceiver products, please visit their official website.
