Stephen Westhead, Vice President of Anglo Asian Mining, stated: "Since bringing the new Gilar mine into production in May 2025, the filter presses have been a bottleneck due to ore grades being higher than the forecast average. These upgrades to the flotation plant allow us to efficiently process this variability in ore grade."

Going forward, the company plans to monitor the performance of the new equipment and assess its impact on production metrics. The company currently also has stockpiled 53,190 tonnes of Gilar ore, grading 1.8 grammes per tonne gold and 3.58 per cent copper, which will be processed next year at the expanded plant.
