en.Wedoany.com Reported - Anglo Asian Mining has commenced production operations with two new large filter presses and an associated thickener at its Gadabay flotation plant in Azerbaijan. The company announced the installation of the second new filter press on October 16, 2025, as part of an upgrade project to replace the original filtration equipment.

This equipment upgrade aims to process high-grade ore from the new Gilar mine. The new filter presses and thickener, procured from Turkey's Yon Proses & Filtrasyon Teknoloji at a cost of $0.5 million, are now fully operational. The Gadabay flotation plant upgrade project focuses on equipment modernization, enhancing the capacity to handle high-grade ore through the introduction of more efficient filter presses and thickeners.

The related upgrades enabled Gadabay to achieve a record monthly copper production in November 2025. Total copper production from flotation and SART processes reached 688 tonnes. Stephen Westhead, Vice President of Anglo Asian Mining, stated: "Since bringing the new Gilar mine into production in May 2025, the filter presses have been a bottleneck due to ore grades being higher than the forecast average. These upgrades to the flotation plant allow us to efficiently process this variability in ore grade."

Going forward, the company plans to monitor the performance of the new equipment and assess its impact on production metrics. The company currently also has stockpiled 53,190 tonnes of Gilar ore, grading 1.8 grammes per tonne gold and 3.58 per cent copper, which will be processed next year at the expanded plant.
