en.Wedoany.com Reported - PhosAgro (ФосАгро) plans to produce small-package mineral fertilizers at its Volkhov (Волхов) plant, targeting summer residents, personal subsidiary plots, and farmers. The agreement for this project was signed at the 2026 St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (Петербургский международный экономический форум) by Leningrad Region Governor Alexander Drozdenko (Александр Дрозденко) and Alexander Gilgenberg (Александр Гильгенберг), General Director of PhosAgro.

Drozdenko stated at the signing ceremony that the project, previously announced during a meeting with PhosAgro at the "Innoprom" (Иннопром) exhibition in Tashkent (Ташкент), involves the production and distribution of high-efficiency mineral fertilizers in individual packages. The Volkhov site will achieve a long-awaited goal for consumers: unique mineral fertilizers and additives will be produced in individual packages for use in personal garden plots, dachas, and small farms. The total investment in the project is 500 million rubles, with production scheduled to start in 2026 and design capacity to be reached in 2027. The planned annual production capacity for small-package mineral fertilizers will exceed 20,000 tons, and the project implementation will create approximately 50 new jobs. Alexander Gilgenberg noted that the main goal is to increase the accessibility of fertilizers for a wide range of consumers, allowing everyone from summer residents to owners of personal subsidiary plots to directly obtain the products, creating conditions for gardeners to grow ecologically clean vegetables on their homestead plots.

PhosAgro is one of the world's leading producers of high-grade phosphate raw materials and phosphorus-containing fertilizers, and is also the sole producer of feed-grade monocalcium phosphate (монокальцийфосфат) and nepheline concentrate (нефелиновый концентрат) in Russia. Between 2019 and 2024, the company implemented a strategic development project through 2025 at the Volkhov branch of its subsidiary Apatit (АО «Апатит»). During the implementation of this investment project, the enterprise's fertilizer production increased more than fourfold, exceeding 1 million tons, and created over 700 new jobs for highly skilled specialists. Since 2025, the enterprise has been implementing a long-term strategic development plan lasting until 2030, with the main goals of integrating advanced technologies and expanding the product range, planning to increase annual production to 1.6 million tons and create over 265 new jobs.
