en.Wedoany.com Reported - NORD DRIVESYSTEMS has expanded the power range of its IE5+ permanent magnet synchronous motors to 11 kW. This series covers a power range from 0.35 kW to 11 kW and belongs to the high-efficiency IE5+ class.

As a system supplier, NORD's latest IE5+ permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSM) maintain efficiency of up to 95% across a wide torque range, achieving optimal energy consumption performance under partial load and varying speed conditions. The series is now available in three sizes, with continuous torque ranging from 1.6 Nm to 43.9 Nm.

These motors feature high overload capacity, a wide adjustment range, and constant torque characteristics across a broad speed range of up to 2400 rpm. This helps reduce the number of variants in applications, thereby simplifying management, manufacturing, logistics, warehousing, and service processes. Jörg Niermann, Head of Marketing at NORD, stated that this offers significant advantages in large intralogistics systems with numerous drives and long operating times.

Regarding energy efficiency and material savings, Niermann added that IE5+ motors achieve significantly higher efficiency than the highest defined energy efficiency class, substantially reducing energy consumption and CO2 emissions. The overall motor concept combines energy and material efficiency, delivering a dual sustainability advantage. These permanent magnet synchronous motors feature an innovative IPM design with 8 poles, which reduces the size of active motor components and saves material in the core lamination and magnets. The stator can also be manufactured using single-tooth winding, reducing copper usage in the winding ends.

NORD's drive solutions are customized to customer requirements and suitable for global applications. IE5+ motors can be equipped with integrated encoders, integrated mechanical brakes, and various flange mounting options for direct connection to gear units. Manufacturers can assemble drive systems from a modular system, including motors, gear units, and frequency inverters—for example, combining IE5+ motors with NORDAC ON or UNICASE helical bevel gear units. Users benefit from higher operational efficiency, lower total cost of ownership (TCO), and rapid return on investment (ROI).
