en.Wedoany.com Reported - KT conducted a preliminary inspection of communication networks in major cheering zones, including Gwanghwamun Square, ahead of South Korea's first World Cup match against the Czech Republic on the 12th, and established traffic response plans to ensure stable network operation.

KT staff pre-inspect communication facilities in the Gwanghwamun area on the 8th, ahead of cheering for South Korea's first match.

This response plan utilizes KT's Wireless Software-Defined Networking (W-SDN) technology. The W-SDN system can analyze traffic in real time from a central point, automatically identify and manage base stations at risk of overload, and reallocate network resources based on changes in crowd density and service usage, thereby maintaining communication quality during large-scale events.

KT also plans to deploy additional mobile base stations to cope with surging on-site traffic and will implement 24-hour special monitoring centered on the Gwacheon Network Control Center before and after the cheering schedule. In the event of any anomalies, repair personnel will be immediately dispatched. This support operation ensures communication quality through real-time traffic analysis, an automatic control system, mobile base stations, and a 24-hour control system.

Jeong Seon-il (정선일), Senior Managing Director and Head of KT's Network Operations Innovation Division, stated that at the Gwanghwamun Square cheering site, where the hopes of the entire nation converge, KT will provide reliable communication services through W-SDN technology and will continuously upgrade intelligent automatic control technologies to improve the network experience quality in traffic-concentrated environments.
