en.Wedoany.com Reported - EcoCeres and British Airways have announced the extension of their Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) supply agreement through the end of 2030, further deepening their collaboration in aviation decarbonization.

Under the agreement, the SAF supplied by EcoCeres is expected to help British Airways reduce approximately 198,000 tons of lifecycle carbon emissions, equivalent to the carbon footprint of around 341,000 round-trip economy class flights between London and New York. This achievement once again demonstrates the practical application value and scalability potential of sustainable aviation fuel in reducing aviation emissions.

EcoCeres' SAF is produced using 100% waste-based feedstocks, such as used cooking oil, achieving up to 94.4% reduction in lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions. As a drop-in fuel, SAF requires no modifications to existing aircraft or infrastructure, making it one of the key pathways for the aviation industry to achieve its emission reduction targets.

The extension of this agreement reflects the stability of the long-term partnership between the two parties and highlights the importance of industrial chain collaboration in scaling up SAF adoption. As the global aviation industry accelerates toward net-zero emissions, stable long-term cooperation and supply assurance will become critical supporting factors.

EcoCeres stated that it will continue to expand production capacity, deepen global partnerships, and promote the large-scale application of sustainable aviation fuel, contributing to a more low-carbon aviation and transportation system.
