en.Wedoany.com Reported - Hyundai Rotem has secured a railway vehicle maintenance contract in Morocco worth KRW 748.2 billion, setting a new record for the company's overseas railway maintenance orders.

On June 19, Hyundai Rotem announced that it signed this railway vehicle maintenance agreement with the Moroccan National Railways Office (ONCF, Office National des Chemins de Fer) on June 18 local time. This contract is a follow-up to the KRW 2.2027 trillion double-deck electric train supply project that Hyundai Rotem secured in February 2025, covering the maintenance of all 440 trains included in the supply contract.

Under the agreement, Hyundai Rotem and ONCF will establish a joint venture to operate the maintenance business, with a contract period of 20 years. Hyundai Rotem will be responsible for spare parts supply, help desk operations, and technical support for major railway vehicle maintenance. More than 200 small and medium-sized suppliers in South Korea will provide spare parts for this project.

The double-deck electric trains supplied by Hyundai Rotem will connect major regions of Morocco, centered around the country's largest city, Casablanca. A Hyundai Rotem official stated that the company will make every effort to ensure the smooth execution of train delivery and maintenance services throughout the entire project lifecycle.
