Feasibility Study for 28-km Metro Extension in India Approved by State Government
en.Wedoany.com Reported - On October 8, the Government of Haryana, India approved the final feasibility study report for the Ballabhgarh–Palwal metro extension, and the Detailed Project Report will subsequently be submitted to India's Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs for review. The planned line has a total length of approximately 28 km and is proposed to include about 10 stations, extending the existing Delhi Metro Violet Line southward from Ballabhgarh in Faridabad to Palwal.

This approval progress was confirmed at the 66th Board Meeting of the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation. The meeting was chaired by Chief Secretary Anurag Rastogi, and Managing Director Ajay Kumar reported on the planning progress of the metro extension and the Regional Rapid Transit System project. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has approved the final feasibility study report for the extension.
The Ballabhgarh–Palwal project is proposed to extend southward from the existing Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh) metro station. This station is currently the terminus of the Delhi Metro Violet Line in the Faridabad direction, with the line connecting to Delhi's urban area via Faridabad. This extension project is intended to further expand rail transit services toward southern Haryana.
The project's technical feasibility study was previously undertaken by RITES (Rail India Technical and Economic Service). The early 2023 study plan involved approximately 25 km of line and 10 stations, and subsequent planning adjusted the line length to approximately 28 km. The final feasibility study approved by the state government has now entered the stage of submitting the Detailed Project Report to the central competent authority.
During the same period, the Haryana Mass Rapid Transport Corporation also reviewed the Gurugram Sector 56 to Panchgaon metro corridor. This project is planned to have a total length of 35.25 km with 28 stations, and is planned to connect with the Namo Bharat Regional Rapid Transit System, pending final approval from the state government.
