en.Wedoany.com Reported - EV Resources (ASX: EVR) has defined first exploration targets across three zones at the Los Lirios antimony project in Oaxaca, Mexico, with an expected resource of 1.8 to 5 million tonnes containing 70,000 to 166,000 tonnes of antimony metal.

The target covers two carbonate replacement deposit (CRD) zones, Lirios One and Lirios Two, with antimony grades of 1.8%, and the Cofradia "high-grade" zone with antimony grades of 6.7%.

The company noted that this target is conceptual in nature, and sufficient exploration work must be completed before a JORC-compliant mineral resource estimate can be made.

Phase one drilling has confirmed a "shallow" CRD continuum at Lirios One, with hole DDH-L1-08-26 intersecting 5.25 metres at 1.36% antimony from 8.1 metres, including 3.05 metres at 2.12% antimony.

The same CRD horizon extends 6 kilometres along strike to Lirios Two, where hole DDH-L2-14-26 intersected 2.35 metres at 2.52% antimony from 11.25 metres.

At the Cofradia zone, located 1.7 kilometres south of Lirios One, channel sampling using handheld portable X-ray fluorescence analysis returned 2.2 metres at 5.66% antimony, with laboratory results pending.

Managing Director Mike Brown said the first exploration target is a "significant milestone," giving EVR "credible" scale for building out Los Lirios.

Brown said: "What excites us most is that the first round of drilling, designed to test steeply dipping feeder structures, has instead revealed a stratabound CRD unit that is continuous, laterally extensive, and, so far, very shallow."

"This is a solid foundation and a major achievement."

EVR is now planning a phase two program, targeting a maiden JORC-compliant mineral resource estimate in the second half of 2026.

Brown said: "The planned phase two program is designed to target high-grade intersections that may occur where feeder structures intersect the CRD host rock, using short, low-cost drill holes, which we believe offers a highly capital-efficient path to a maiden JORC resource."

The Los Lirios project covers 1,552 hectares across three mining licenses, with EVR holding a 70% interest through a joint venture arrangement.

Los Lirios is one of the few advanced-stage antimony projects in North America, emerging at a time when China's 2024 export controls have tightened global supply.

EV Resources is a critical minerals exploration and development company focused on securing the North American antimony supply chain.
