The initiative stems from the approval of a national AI Trust by Nigeria's Federal Executive Council (FEC), aiming to ensure long-term leadership and governance in the country's AI development and deployment. The minister emphasized the country's ongoing efforts in innovation, skills development, and technology infrastructure investment to strengthen the digital ecosystem. The workshop was supported by the MacArthur Foundation, Co-Creation Hub (CcHUB), and the University of Warwick, and insights from participants will be used to shape the governance and operational framework of the proposed National AI Trust.
