en.Wedoany.com Reported - Renewable Properties and Sonoma Clean Power have officially completed the Redemeyer Road Solar+Storage project in Ukiah, California. The project has a capacity of 4 MWac and was completed in June 2026. It is Sonoma Clean Power's first locally sited solar+storage project and its largest local solar project.

Solar panels and white battery storage

The solar plant is paired with a 4 MW lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery energy storage system with a 4-hour duration, providing Sonoma Clean Power with a dispatchable energy resource for load shifting and ancillary services. Under California's Renewable Portfolio Standard, the project qualifies for Portfolio Content Category 1 certification, which requires that physical electricity and its associated environmental benefits be generated simultaneously and delivered together to the grid. The facility is expected to generate approximately 10,000 MWh of clean energy annually, enough to power 1,739 homes each year.

Sonoma Clean Power will use the energy from this project for its EverGreen service, which provides customers with 100% renewable, locally produced energy around the clock through solar, storage, and geothermal generation located within Sonoma and Mendocino counties.

Brian von Moos, Chief Revenue Officer of Renewable Properties, stated that the Redemeyer Road Solar project reflects the company's ongoing commitment to developing small utility-scale renewable energy projects, expanding solar access, and expressed pleasure in supporting Sonoma Clean Power through such projects. Geof Syphers, CEO of Sonoma Clean Power, noted that this largest local solar project demonstrates what can be achieved when investing in local community clean energy, and by pairing solar with battery storage, it delivers power when most needed, supports reliability, and keeps energy benefits local. Brian Barnacle, Chair of the Sonoma Clean Power Board, stated that the project reflects the board's commitment to investing in local solutions that benefit the communities served, and expressed excitement about seeing a project of this scale come to fruition in Mendocino County.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for July 14 at 11:00 a.m. Pacific Time at the project site in Ukiah. Featured speakers at the ceremony include Sonoma Clean Power Board Chair Brian Barnacle, Renewable Properties Chief Revenue Officer Brian von Moos, Sonoma Clean Power CEO Geof Syphers, and Mendocino County Supervisor John Haschak. Sonoma Clean Power is exploring further opportunities for clean energy development in the region.
