Krafton's games, including PUBG: Battlegrounds, have long been powered by AWS cloud services, establishing a prior partnership, but this marks the first meeting between the CEOs of the two companies. Since last year, Kim Chang-han and other Krafton executives have held a series of meetings with tech giants such as OpenAI, NVIDIA, and AWS to discuss collaboration. Krafton stated that both sides shared Krafton's AI vision and discussed how AWS's cloud and AI infrastructure could support Krafton. This move aims to expand its AI business. In February of this year, Krafton established a robotics specialist company, Ludo Robotics, in San Francisco, USA, entering the physical AI market and continuously expanding its AI business footprint. Earlier this month, during NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang's visit to South Korea, Krafton Chairman Jang Byung-gyu and Chief AI Officer Lee Kang-seok met with Huang to discuss collaboration in gaming and even physical AI. A Krafton official stated that the meeting with AWS primarily focused on exchanging views on potential collaboration regarding Krafton's AI research and development and AWS's cloud and AI infrastructure capabilities, and that related discussions will continue.
