en.Wedoany.com Reported - The Korea Land and Housing Corporation (LH) announced on the 25th that it has developed an artificial intelligence (AI)-based Building Information Modeling (BIM) support software, enabling the automation of earthwork design.

BIM technology visualizes all construction process information—including planning, design, construction, and maintenance—in three dimensions, aiming to reduce design errors and resource waste. The newly developed software applies reinforcement learning-based AI to the earthwork design phase in site development, optimizing and automating the final ground elevation and earthwork transport plans. LH estimates that using this software can reduce earthwork transport volume by an average of approximately 7% compared to current levels.
LH plans to provide this software free of charge to design firms and other organizations participating in its BIM design service contracts. On the 18th of this month, LH held a function demonstration and seminar at its Gyeonggi Southern Regional Headquarters for about 50 representatives from public institutions and private design firms, discussing specific measures to expand BIM application.
Lee Sang-jo (이상조), head of LH's Smart Construction Safety Division, stated that the company will actively introduce smart technologies such as AI and BIM to lead the digital transformation of the construction industry.
