en.Wedoany.com Reported - German crane service provider MSG Krandienst GmbH has given a positive assessment of its first Liebherr new mobile construction crane MK 120-5.1E after nine months of actual operation, considering it a cost-effective lifting solution for operators.

Since last autumn, Liebherr's factory in Ehingen began delivering the latest model in the MK series, the MK 120-5.1E. MSG Krandienst GmbH became one of the first customers. Björn Jatz, Managing Director of the company based in Kehl, Baden-Württemberg, stated that the concept of the new mobile construction crane completely convinced him, leading the company to replace its long-serving MK110 with this new model.

The MSG fleet already included models such as the MK 63, MK 80, and MK 88, and the company had long recognized the crane concept of the MK series. This MK 120-5.1E is primarily used for installation work requiring long reach, such as air conditioning units, ventilation systems, roof insulation, and steel structures.

Operator Kevin Meier is satisfied with the new crane, particularly praising its newly equipped three-stage outrigger system. Meier believes this system makes it easy to set up the crane in tight spaces, proving its value across multiple job sites. At a construction site in the Black Forest town of Lenzkirch, he was installing roof trapezoidal sheets for a new steel-frame building. From the elevated cab, he could clearly observe the load and the assembly workers.

Meier lifted long sheets from the truck and transported them in batches to the workshop roof, with a gross load weight of approximately 2.3 tons. The crane can achieve a maximum working distance of 48 meters. Meier noted that with full ballast and a 52-meter distance, it can lift over two tons.

The MK 120-5.1E comes standard with 4.8 tons of ballast, capable of carrying most of the load, and an additional three-ton ballast package can further enhance performance. Jatz emphasized that the balanced counterweight concept, combined with lifting capacity and reach, makes this crane an outstanding piece of equipment and a key factor in the purchase decision. He believes this counterweight concept is superior to competitors, and together with Liebherr Ehingen's professional service, makes the machine cost-effective for operators.

Björn Jatz joined the company in 2004 and has been managing it for ten years. MSG Krandienst GmbH, headquartered in Kehl on the Upper Rhine, employs 175 people including its French subsidiary MSG Levage sarl. The company owns 55 mobile cranes, including four large models such as the LTM 1650-8.1 and LTM 1750-9.1, with approximately 70% of the fleet being Liebherr equipment. In addition to crane rental services, the company is also active in project logistics.
